Spouses.

For a spouse, moving to another country in order to support their partner's new venture can be a difficult challenge. Even when there are children involved, the day of an expat spouse can be excruciatingly long and lonely if they haven't got anything to do.

Luckily Krakow is a city with a lot of activities on offer. Whether you fancy meeting up with other expats, taking a language course or even trying your hand at some Polish cooking -- the world can be your oyster as you embark upon your new life in Krakow.

A popular way for expat ladies to meet new friends is by joining The International Women's Association of Krakow. This multicultural social outlet provides advice and support to its members. The IWAK conducts coffee mornings and organises interest groups such as play group, kids club, book club, cooking club and sports.

Some Polish language classes are advisable if you are intending to stay for an extended period of time. Not only will some lessons help make your life easier in Poland, they also provide a wonderful opportunity to meet new people from other countries – many of whom are in the same boat. For non-English speaking spouses, some English lessons at the British council are also a possibility.
