International Schooling.

Poland’s present day educational system was introduced in 1999. The system is composed of: preschool, which is compulsory for all children who are six years old; primary school for children between 7 and 12 and secondary education which is divided into lower school and upper school.

Secondary schools can either be general or vocational. A general secondary education allows the pupil to take the final examination – the Matura. Once a pupil has passed the Matura they may then apply for University. A vocational or technical secondary education, on the other hand, involves a more practical education that results in the students being evaluated by a vocational proficiency examination.

A number of international schools, providing an excellent standard of education in a multicultural environment, can also be found in Krakow.

Education is compulsory from the age of 6-18 in Poland.
