The Philharmonic orchestra was established in 1945. Due to its excellent reputation its concerts take place and are enjoyed in numerous countries.
The venue of the artists, the Philharmonic hall is the largest concert hall in Cracow and enthuses visitors with its mix of neo-Baroque and modernity. In addition to the concert hall there are also two rooms for chamber music. In one of these two chambers, the Blue Hall, Pope John Paul II came forward as a poet in 1938.
Apart from the orchestra, the Filharmonia Krakowska also houses a mixed and a boys’ choir, a woodwind, a wind and a horn quintet.
