The opera history in Cracow has its first beginnings already in the 17th century. But it should not be until 2008, that this important cultural institution got its own location.
The previous years the opera was housed in the Juliusz Słowacki Theater. Now there is a brand new building and the opera could moved to Lubicz Street, which is - because of its closeness to the central train station - situated very well.
The new opera house is equipped with the most modern technology, there are movable slots, stage wings, a computer controlled acoustic ceiling and more equipment, which makes an opera visit a true experience.
The first floor, which houses the stage and the foyer, also provides a restaurant.
