Krakow's Galicia Jewish Museum, located near the Old Synagogue in the Jewish quarter Kazimierz, is as much a celebration of Jewish culture as it is a commemoration to the lives that were lost during the Holocaust.
The Jewish Museum houses a permanent photography exhibition depicting a once flourishing Jewish community, its demise and ultimate destruction. The exhibition also pays tribute to those who helped recreate the memory of the past. Exhibitions, lectures, Jewish music concerts, films and even language courses are all provided by this unique cultural institution.
