As much of Krakow centre is pedestrianised, parking restrictions are strict within the city itself. When it comes to parking, the city is divided into a complex system of zones.
Zone A, contained within the area of the main square, is for bicycles and pedestrians only. In Zone B, priority is given to pedestrians, the maximum speed limit is 20 km/h and parking is permitted in specially designated areas. Zone C, containing dozens of streets around Planty, is a limited parking zone with a maximum parking time of 2 hours. A parking card is required and can be purchased at many street kiosks, the city hall, the post office or directly from a parking attendant.
There are of course several car parks to be found in and around the city:
The main railway station roof – entrance Rakowicka street
Kaluzy Street by the stadium KS Cracovia
Karmelicka at Rajska street
Kopernika Street
Lubicz Street
Starowislna at Pegetow Palace
Straszewskiego Street
Szpitalna Street
Powisle Street
Zyblikiewicza at Dom Turysty PTTK
3 Maja at the National Museum
Parking costs 4-5 PLN per hour.
